구약의 말씀 – Exodus 20:1-17
1 이 모든 말씀은 하나님이 하신 말씀이다.
2 "나는 너희를 이집트 땅 종살이하던 집에서 이끌어 낸 주 너희의 하나님이다.
3 너희는 내 앞에서 다른 신들을 섬기지 못한다.
4 너희는 너희가 섬기려고 위로 하늘에 있는 것이나, 아래로 땅에 있는 것이나, 땅 아래 물 속에 있는 어떤 것이든지, 그 모양을 본떠서 우상을 만들지 못한다.
5 너희는 그것들에게 절하거나, 그것들을 섬기지 못한다. 나, 주 너희의 하나님은 질투하는 하나님이다. 나를 미워하는 사람에게는, 그 죄값으로, 본인뿐만 아니라 삼사 대 자손에게까지 벌을 내린다.
6 그러나 나를 사랑하고 나의 계명을 지키는 사람에게는, 수천 대 자손에 이르기까지 한결같은 사랑을 베푼다.
7 너희는 주 너희 하나님의 이름을 함부로 부르지 못한다. 주는 자기의 이름을 함부로 부르는 자를 죄 없다고 하지 않는다.
8 안식일을 기억하여 그 날을 거룩하게 지켜라.
9 너희는 엿새 동안 모든 일을 힘써 하여라.
10 그러나 이렛날은 주 너희 하나님의 안식일이니, 너희는 어떤 일도 해서는 안 된다. 너희나, 너희의 아들이나 딸이나, 너희의 남종이나 여종만이 아니라, 너희 집짐승이나, 너희의 집에 머무르는 나그네라도, 일을 해서는 안 된다.
11 내가 엿새 동안 하늘과 땅과 바다와 그 안에 있는 모든 것을 만들고 이렛날에는 쉬었기 때문이다. 그러므로 나 주가 안식일을 복 주고, 그 날을 거룩하게 하였다.
12 너희 부모를 공경하여라. 그래야 너희는 주 너희 하나님이 너희에게 준 땅에서 오래도록 살 것이다.
13 살인하지 못한다.
14 간음하지 못한다.
15 도둑질하지 못한다.
16 너희 이웃에게 불리한 거짓 증언을 하지 못한다.
17 너희 이웃의 집을 탐내지 못한다. 너희 이웃의 아내나 남종이나 여종이나 소나 나귀나 할 것 없이, 너희 이웃의 소유는 어떤 것도 탐내지 못한다."
1 God said to the people of Israel:
2 I am the LORD your God, the one who brought you out of Egypt where you were slaves.
3 Do not worship any god except me.
4 Do not make idols that look like anything in the sky or on earth or in the ocean under the earth.
5 Don't bow down and worship idols. I am the LORD your God, and I demand all your love. If you reject me, I will punish your families for three or four generations.
6 But if you love me and obey my laws, I will be kind to your families for thousands of generations.
7 Do not misuse my name. I am the LORD your God, and I will punish anyone who misuses my name.
8 Remember that the Sabbath Day belongs to me.
9 You have six days when you can do your work,
10 but the seventh day of each week belongs to me, your God. No one is to work on that day--not you, your children, your slaves, your animals, or the foreigners who live in your towns.
11 In six days I made the sky, the earth, the oceans, and everything in them, but on the seventh day I rested. That's why I made the Sabbath a special day that belongs to me.
12 Respect your father and your mother, and you will live a long time in the land I am giving you.
13 Do not murder.
14 Be faithful in marriage.
15 Do not steal.
16 Do not tell lies about others.
17 Do not want anything that belongs to someone else. Don't want anyone's house, wife or husband, slaves, oxen, donkeys or anything else.
시편의 말씀 - Psalms 19:1-14
1 하늘은 하나님의 영광을 드러내고, 창공은 그의 솜씨를 알려 준다.
2 낮은 낮에게 말씀을 전해 주고, 밤은 밤에게 지식을 알려 준다.
3 1)그 이야기 그 말소리, 비록 아무 소리가 들리지 않아도
4 그 소리 온 누리에 울려 퍼지고, 그 말씀 세상 끝까지 번져 간다. 해에게는, 하나님께서 하늘에 장막을 쳐 주시니,
5 해는 신방에서 나오는 신랑처럼 기뻐하고, 제 길을 달리는 용사처럼 즐거워한다.
6 하늘 이 끝에서 나와서 하늘 저 끝으로 돌아가니, 그 뜨거움을 피할 자 없다.
7 주님의 교훈은 완전하여서 사람에게 생기를 북돋우어 주고, 주님의 증거는 참되어서 어리석은 자를 깨우쳐 준다.
8 주님의 교훈은 정직하여서 마음에 기쁨을 안겨 주고, 주님의 계명은 순수하여서 사람의 눈을 밝혀 준다.
9 주님의 말씀은 티 없이 맑아서 영원토록 견고히 서 있으며, 주님의 법규는 참되어서 한결같이 바르다.
10 주님의 교훈은 금보다, 순금보다 더 탐스럽고, 꿀보다, 송이꿀보다 더 달콤하다.
11 그러므로 주님의 종이 그 교훈으로 경고를 받고, 그것을 지키면, 푸짐한 상을 받을 것이다.
12 그러나 어느 누가 자기 잘못을 낱낱이 알겠습니까? 미처 깨닫지 못한 죄까지도 깨끗하게 씻어 주십시오.
13 주님의 종이 죄인 줄 알면서도 고의로 죄를 짓지 않도록 막아 주셔서 죄의 손아귀에 다시는 잡히지 않게 지켜 주십시오. 그 때에야 나는 온전하게 되어서, 모든 끔찍한 죄악을 벗어 버릴 수 있을 것입니다.
14 나의 반석이시요 구원자이신 주님, 내 입의 말과 내 마음의 생각이 언제나 주님의 마음에 들기를 바랍니다.
1 The heavens keep telling the wonders of God, and the skies declare what he has done.
2 Each day informs the following day; each night announces to the next.
3 They don't speak a word, and there is never the sound of a voice.
4 Yet their message reaches all the earth, and it travels around the world. In the heavens a tent is set up for the sun.
5 It rises like a bridegroom and gets ready like a hero eager to run a race.
6 It travels all the way across the sky. Nothing hides from its heat.
7 The Law of the LORD is perfect; it gives us new life. His teachings last forever, and they give wisdom to ordinary people.
8 The LORD's instruction is right; it makes our hearts glad. His commands shine brightly, and they give us light.
9 Worshiping the LORD is sacred; he will always be worshiped. All of his decisions are correct and fair.
10 They are worth more than the finest gold and are sweeter than honey from a honeycomb.
11 By your teachings, Lord, I am warned; by obeying them, I am greatly rewarded.
12 None of us know our faults. Forgive me when I sin without knowing it.
13 Don't let me do wrong on purpose, Lord, or let sin have control over my life. Then I will be innocent, and not guilty of some terrible fault.
14 Let my words and my thoughts be pleasing to you, LORD, because you are my mighty rock and my protector.
복음서 말씀 – John 2:13-22
13 유대 사람의 유월절이 가까워져서, 예수께서 예루살렘으로 올라가셨다.
14 그는 성전 뜰에서, 소와 양과 비둘기를 파는 사람들과 돈 바꾸어 주는 사람들이 앉아 있는 것을 보시고,
15 노끈으로 채찍을 만들어 양과 소와 함께 그들을 모두 성전에서 내쫓으시고, 돈 바꾸어 주는 사람들의 돈을 쏟아 버리시고, 상을 둘러 엎으셨다.
16 비둘기 파는 사람들에게는 "이것을 걷어치워라. 내 아버지의 집을 장사하는 집으로 만들지 말아라" 하고 말씀하셨다.
17 제자들은 3)'주님의 집을 생각하는 열정이 나를 삼킬 것이다' 하고 기록한 성경 말씀을 기억하였다.
18 유대 사람들이 예수께 물었다. "당신이 이런 일을 하다니, 무슨 4)표징을 우리에게 보여 주겠소?"
19 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "이 성전을 허물어라. 그러면 내가 사흘 만에 다시 세우겠다."
20 그러자 유대 사람들이 말하였다. "이 성전을 짓는 데에 마흔여섯 해나 걸렸는데, 이것을 사흘 만에 세우겠다구요?"
21 그러나 예수께서 성전이라고 하신 것은 자기 몸을 두고 하신 말씀이었다.
22 제자들은, 예수께서 죽은 사람들 가운데서 살아나신 뒤에야, 그가 말씀하신 것을 기억하고서, 성경 말씀과 예수께서 하신 말씀을 믿게 되었다.
13 Not long before the Jewish festival of Passover, Jesus went to Jerusalem.
14 There he found people selling cattle, sheep, and doves in the temple. He also saw moneychangers sitting at their tables.
15 So he took some rope and made a whip. Then he chased everyone out of the temple, together with their sheep and cattle. He turned over the tables of the moneychangers and scattered their coins.
16 Jesus said to the people who had been selling doves, "Get those doves out of here! Don't make my Father's house a marketplace."
17 The disciples then remembered that the Scriptures say, "My love for your house burns in me like a fire."
18 The Jewish leaders asked Jesus, "What miracle j) will you work to show us why you have done this?"
19 "Destroy this temple," Jesus answered, "and in three days I will build it again!"
20 The leaders replied, "It took forty-six years to build this temple. What makes you think you can rebuild it in three days?"
21 But Jesus was talking about his body as a temple.
22 And when he was raised from death, his disciples remembered what he had told them. Then they believed the Scriptures and the words of Jesus.
신약의 말씀 – 1 Corinthians 1: 18-25
18 십자가의 말씀이 멸망할 자들에게는 어리석은 것이지만, 구원을 받는 사람인 우리에게는 하나님의 능력입니다.
19 성경에 기록하기를 "내가 지혜로운 자들의 지혜를 멸하고, 총명한 자들의 총명을 폐할 것이다" 하였습니다.
20 현자가 어디에 있습니까? 학자가 어디에 있습니까? 이 세상의 변론가가 어디에 있습니까? 하나님께서는 이 세상의 지혜를 어리석게 하신 것이 아닙니까?
21 이 세상은 그 지혜로 하나님을 알지 못하였습니다. 하나님의 지혜가 그렇게 되도록 한 것입니다. 하나님께서는 어리석게 들리는 설교를 통하여 믿는 사람들을 구원하시기를 기뻐하신 것입니다.
22 유대 사람은 기적을 요구하고, 그리스 사람은 지혜를 찾으나,
23 우리는 십자가에 달리신 그리스도를 전합니다. 그리스도가 십자가에 달리셨다는 것은 유대 사람에게는 거리낌이고, 이방 사람에게는 어리석은 일입니다.
24 그러나 부르심을 받은 사람에게는, 유대 사람에게나 그리스 사람에게나, 이 그리스도는 하나님의 능력이요, 하나님의 지혜입니다.
25 하나님의 어리석음이 사람의 지혜보다 더 지혜롭고, 하나님의 약함이 사람의 강함보다 더 강합니다.
18 The message about the cross doesn't make any sense to lost people. But for those of us who are being saved, it is God's power at work.
19 As God says in the Scriptures, "I will destroy the wisdom of all who claim to be wise. I will confuse those who think they know so much."
20 What happened to those wise people? What happened to those experts in the Scriptures? What happened to the ones who think they have all the answers? Didn't God show that the wisdom of this world is foolish?
21 God was wise and decided not to let the people of this world use their wisdom to learn about him.
Instead, God chose to save only those who believe the foolish message we preach.
22 Jews ask for miracles, and Greeks want something that sounds wise.
23 But we preach that Christ was nailed to a cross. Most Jews have problems with this, and most Gentiles think it is foolish.
24 Our message is God's power and wisdom for the Jews and the Greeks that he has chosen.
25 Even when God is foolish, he is wiser than everyone else, and even when God is weak, he is stronger than everyone else.
